06 / GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
plan a programme.

A few practical details about scope, delivery, certification and participation.

Have a programme-specific question?
Include it in your enquiry

Can our institution request a customised workshop?

Yes. Share your academic priorities, participant profile and intended outcomes. The topic, depth and activities can be discussed in relation to your institution’s requirements.

Are these programmes only for Sociology departments?

The core perspective is Sociology and social research. Institutions from related disciplines can enquire about research methodology, academic writing, qualitative methods and research ethics. Suitability depends on the topic and audience.

Can beginners attend?

An introductory programme can be planned for participants with limited research experience. More focused sessions can address proposals, fieldwork or manuscripts already in progress. Please share the group’s experience level during planning.

Are online programmes available?

Online masterclasses are among the programme formats. The suitability of online delivery for a particular workshop or FDP can be discussed when the academic scope and learning activities are planned.

Will participants receive certificates?

Certification depends on the selected programme and agreed arrangements. The issuing organisation, participation or completion criteria and certificate details should be confirmed before registration. Not every workshop necessarily includes a certificate.

Will an FDP certificate meet professional-development requirements?

No automatic recognition is promised. Where a certificate is required for a specific institutional or professional purpose, confirm acceptance with the relevant institution or authority before enrolling.

Does an academic writing workshop guarantee publication?

No. The workshop supports writing development and publication planning. It does not guarantee journal acceptance or replace independent authorship, appropriate research practice or editorial review.

How are fees and programme dates decided?

Fees and dates are confirmed through the programme proposal, taking account of the topic, duration, delivery arrangements, participant group and agreed scope.
